Starting a Baking Collective Workshop

Our friends at the Catholic Worker Homestead have been running a Bread For All baking collective, where a group of people collectively purchase ingredients and work together to bake homemade, organic bread for the entire group and beyond! For this workshop, they have offered to teach those interested about what it would take to build a Bread For All baking collective in your area! Participants will head out to their homestead to look at the various pieces of equipment used in their venture, with ideas about constructing a simple “proofbox.” They’ll also go over hands-on kneading and mixer kneading; an overview of organic products and basic recipes they use, and the economics related to this effort. All participants will also get support down the road as they put together a collective for themselves and their community!
